Winemaking Equipment

We have put together a deluxe winemaking equipment kit. This set of equipment is designed to be used with wine juice kits (like the ones we sell) and not for use with grapes (unless you have all the other equipment to turn the grapes into juice, which we do not sell). It's based on our basic philosophy that everything should be easy to do and that you won't outgrow the equipment after your first batch. We haven't left anything out of our complete kit and includes many extras you just don't get with competing kits. For example, there are many hand operated corkers on the market, but the inexpensive ones are very hard to use and do a questionable job of corking. The corker we include is not only easy to use but does a great job of corking. (The inexpensive corkers basically shove the cork through a funnel to compress it on the way into the bottle. Ours compresses the cork with three levers along the whole length of the cork, just like the expensive floor corkers. Of course it costs more, but it is worth it.)

Our kit uses no glass fermenters which not only makes it easier to use and care for, but also safer and less expensive to ship. The kit never requires siphoning. We can use plastic fermenters because the new wine kits do not need long periods of aging in the fermenter. In fact, your wine can be bottled and ready to drink in just four weeks (but most wine will benefit from aging in the bottle).

We have produced two versions of the kit. The first contains everything you need (except wine bottles and a wine ingredient kit) and assumes you have nothing and are new to both brewing and/or winemaking. The second kit is for our customers that already have beermaking equipment (like the kit we sell). It leaves out common testing and cleaning equipment that you probably already have. You do get a new set of fermenters because the beer flavor does tend to permeate the plastic. You also get the corker, corks and other things specific to winemaking.

The kits also come with our instruction manual that explains how to use the kits in conjunction with our winemaking ingredient kits.
