Wine Ingredient Kits

Wine ingredient kits come in a variety of forms - straight juice ready to ferment, and concentrated juice where water is added to bring it back to full volume. Within the concentrated juice lines, there are kits that are pure grape juice with water removed and others to which some fructose (the sugar that occurs in grapes) has been added. We've tried them both, and believe it or not the "sugar added" kits make better, more full-bodied wine. Why? We don't know for sure, but we have a theory: In the world of commercial winemaking, sugar is generally not allowed to be added. The grapes must contain enough sugar at harvest time to be used in winemaking. The wineries get first pick of the wine grapes, what's left over makes table wine and wine kits. But the mainstream wine industry has no use for the grapes that don't quite have enough sugar content, but otherwise might be a very high quality, flavorful grape. The kit producers can use these grapes for their kits because there is no restriction on the addition of sugar. So what we end up with is a very high quality juice that's had some sugar added that should have been there naturally.

We are carrying the Moments line of wine kits.  Create your own wine Moments with our special varietal and world-class blends sourced from grapes harvested around the world.  Moments promises a joyful experience that should be shared with family and friends.

These wine kits contain everything you need - concentrated grape juice, yeast, additives, and sometimes oak chips. Just add water. (You need equipment of course.) You can get your first wine started in less than half an hour! The wine is ready to bottle in just four weeks. You can drink it right away, but most will benefit from some aging in the bottle. Each kit makes 6 gallons of wine or 30 standard wine bottles. That works out to less than $2 per bottle! How good is the wine? You'll be amazed at how good it is. You're not going to be making $30 a bottle wine, but it easily equals wine you'd buy for $10 to $12 a bottle.

Moments' 10 kg (8.1 litre) product utilizes lower brix concentrates to protect the delicate varietal characteristics of the raw materials.  Moments is for the consumer who demands premium quality in a timely (4 weeks) kit format.

We also sell wine corks. These corks are overruns from the wineries and are printed on the side with the name of the winery. We have found that these are higher quality corks than the plain ones generally offered to the home winemaker. They come in a packages of 33 or 100. 33 is enough to do a batch from our kits with a few extras to account for the occasional bum cork. Length may vary between 1.5" and 1.75" depending on availability.
 Package of 33:  CORK33 $6.50
 Package of 100:  CORK100 $17.50

We don't sell wine bottles. They're just too much of a pain and expense to ship. You can generally get all the bottles you need for free by asking a local restaurant to save them for you, or you can save them from wine you drink.
